"Saving Wellington"~Free Movie
The Save the Wellington Wildlands Council invites you to an exciting double feature! First, the showing of the new documentary created by local film makers Greeley Wells and Ed Keeler. It explores the 7527-acre rare intact diverse landscape of the Wellington Wildlands, located in the hills north of Hwy 238 between Ruch and Applegate.
The short film will be followed by Jeff LaLande, Ph.D -historian and archaeologist - presenting " Some Historical Aspects of the Applegate Valley". He will cover the history of the Native people; fur trappers and explorers; and the gold mining and farming settlement of the region. Gather around the fireplace as we travel into our region's past and "walk along" with the people who preceded us.
