Utility Worker I - Meter Reading

The primary duties for the Utility Worker I are:
- Gathers meter reading for billing usage of customers via walking or driving to input data into handheld computer.
- Handles utility billing service orders to include water turn on/shut off orders, leak detection, and repair of broken parts.
- Inspects, installs, maintains, tests, and removes water meters.
Hours of work will be Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Hourly Wage $21.8494 to $27.6466
A High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of related experience, are required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Licensing Requirements:
- A valid Oregon Driver's License Class C is required at time of hire and a motorcycle endorsement may be required.
Within 12 months of appointment incumbents are required to obtain:
- Oregon Certified Flagger
- Valid Oregon Commercial Driver’s License Class B with tanker endorsement
Within 18 months of appointment incumbents are required to obtain:
- Forklift Certificate
